Marist Football Takes on Franklin Pierce in Home Opener

Red Foxes Will Wear Black Legacy Uniforms, Fireworks Presented by Northwestern Mutual Follow Game

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University football team will play its home opener against Franklin Pierce on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
 
How to Follow
  • Geoff Brault (play-by-play), Steve Eggink (analyst), and William Rosen (sideline) will have the call on ESPN+.
  • In-game updates will be available on X via Marist Football (@Marist_FBall).
 
What to Watch for
  • The Red Foxes will be debuting their black legacy uniforms, marking the first time the program has worn black at home since 2004.
  • There will be a Black Out for fans, and black apparel will be sold at the Stadium Pro Shop beginning at 6 p.m. The McCann Pro Shop will be open at 4 p.m.
  • There will be a postgame fireworks display, presented by Northwestern Mutual.
 
Facts & Figures
  • A win would give the Red Foxes a victory in their home opener for the second straight year, and make them 1-1 after two games for the second straight year.
  • Marist last won its home opener in back-to-back years in 2002 and 2003.
  • This is the second of three Friday games for the Red Foxes, and first of two Friday night games at Tenney Stadium. The three total Friday games and two home Friday games are both the most in program history.
 
Touchdowns in All Phases
  • Marist scored touchdown on offense, defense, and special teams in its season opener at New Haven on Aug. 28.
  • This was the first time the Red Foxes scored touchdowns in all three phases since Oct. 8, 2022 at Stetson.
  • In its last 15 games, Marist has scored four touchdowns on special teams and three on defense.
 
About Franklin Pierce
  • The Ravens' program started in 2019, and they enjoyed their first winning season (6-4) and best record in Northeast-10 Conference play (5-2) last season.
  • Franklin Pierce was picked to finish in a tie for third in this year's Northeast-10 Preseason Poll.
  • Head coach Russell Gaskamp is now in his seventh season (eighth year) leading the program, and he played collegiately at the University of Texas.
