POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Marist women's soccer team continues its 2026 campaign with a match against Merrimack to open conference play on Saturday, Sept. 5. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. from Tenney Stadium on ESPN+.
 

LAST TIME OUT

• The Marist women's soccer team fell to Navy, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.
• The Red Foxes jumped out to an early lead behind a goal from sophomore defender Sophia Dorsey in the 13th minute. Dorsey found the back of the net at 12:33 to put Marist ahead 1-0.
• Marist finished the afternoon with nine shots, including five on goal, while Navy recorded 11 shots with seven on frame.
• The Red Foxes also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. 
• Samantha Graf made four saves in the opening half for Marist, while Nelly Bianchi-Nagle played the second half.

STUDENT-ATHLETE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS GAME

• Saturday's contest will be Marist's Student-Athlete Mental Health Awareness Game
• The objective of the event is to come together as a community to recognize the importance of supporting one another on and off the field.
• Mental health is just as important as physical health, and the Red Foxes are proud to use their platform to break the stigma and encourage honest conversations.
• On Saturday, the girls will be wearing green ribbons, representing solidarity and that they are playing for something bigger than themselves.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS

• Merrimack enters the contest at 2-231 on the season
• The Warriors' two wins have come by way of 2-1 victories over Maine and Bryant
• Isabella Keogh leads Merrimack with three goals on the season
• Addison Addison leads the team with 16 saves and a .640 save-percentage

HISTORY VS MERRIMACK

• Saturday's contest will mark the third contest between the two programs
• Marist holds a record of 1-1-0 against Merrimack
• The last time the two squads faced off, Marist came away with a 3-2 victory on Oct. 11, 2025 on the road

NEXT TIME OUT

• The Red Foxes will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 12, when Marist travels to take on Sacred Heart
• The contest is set for a noon start
