Prior to Marist: Wendelken was named an ESPN Rise Third Team All-American in January ... He was a First Team All-State selection as well as an All-League Performer ... Wendelken was a team captain during the 2010 season and the team MVP. During all four years of his scholastic career, he was named to the Nassau/Suffolk Catholic High School All-Academic Team ... He also played for the Hicksville Strikers who reached the national finals in 2009 ... The club was named state and regional champions in 2009 and 2010.
