2014: MAAC Rookie of the Week (3/4)…Barrera appeared in 35 games for the Red Foxes, starting 21 of them…She finished the season with a .222 batting average, compiling 12 hits, 18 runs, and seven RBIs in 54 at bats for a .389 slugging percentage…Barrera was third on the team with a .408 on base percentage…On the defensive end, she added 23 putouts and was fifth on the team with 34 assists in the infield…She averaged a .905 fielding percentage, while forcing four double plays throughout the season to place her fourth on the team…She had a season-high three putouts three times, and a season-high four assists twice in 2014…Barrera claimed a season-high two runs scored three separate times, while posting two multi-hit games against NC Central on March 3, and Bethune Cookman on March 15…Her first career-hit was a three-run homer vs. Mercer on March 2…Barrera posted a two-game hitting streak to start off the season as she nailed back-to-back home runs in two games to compiled three hits and five RBIs at the Mercer Bear Classic…She closed out the season with a seven-game run streak (April 26 to May 8) to tally eight runs over the stretch.

Prior to Marist: Parents are Joe and Becky Barrera.. Played softball for 4 years and basketball for 3 years at Roy High School in Utah.. All Area, All State and All Region softball player with two state championships. Major is athletic training.
