Named team MVP his senior year after recording 55 points and 92 groundballs. Ammirato was a two time captain and was named to the Suffolk County All Star team three times. He was also a two time team captain on the football field and along with Lyons, participated in the Empire Challenge All Star game as one of Long Islands primer football players. Academically, he was a member of National Honor Society. He attended the same high school as fellow signee Anthony Filippetti and will join former high school teammate, Jacob Bloom.
