Ali Kenney started as Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Enhancement in August of 2014. She is responsible for monitoring the academic progress and eligibility of assigned student-athletes as well as coordinating the Student Athlete Affairs program and overseeing LEAP (Ladies Empowering Athletics Program). She is also responsible for the student-athlete tutoring program and nominating student-athletes for academic awards and honors.
Prior to Marist, Kenney worked as an academic counselor at the University of Southern California in Student-Athlete Academic Services. Her primary role was advising women’s basketball, women’s rowing, and the men’s and women’s volleyball teams. She assisted with the Supplemental Academic Support Program, Book Scholarship Program and data collection for the Academic Progress Rate.
Kenney obtained her Masters of Education in Post-Secondary Administration and Student Affairs with a concentration in Athletic Administration from the University of Southern California in May 2012. As a graduate student, Kenney worked in Student-Athlete Academic Services in a number of roles including graduate intern, learning assistant, and assistant tutorial coordinator.
Kenney is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A).
Kenney earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication with a minor in Business from the University of Connecticut in 2009 and is a native of Vernon, New Jersey. She currently resides in Walden, NY with her husband Bob and their daughter Harper.
