Former Red Fox Bemi Otulaja is in his second season on the Marist coaching staff in 2016, and will once again coach the defensive line.

The defensive line was one of the Red Foxes' strongest areas in the 2015 season. Defensive end Demetrius Williams was named First Team All-PFL, while three Red Foxes - defensive ends John Brennan and Landon Moore, along with nose tackle Nicholas Foster - earned All-PFL Honorable Mention.

Prior to his arrival at Marist, Otulaja's most recent position was at Hudson Valley Community College, where he coached the team's running backs in the 2014 season. He helped lead HVCC to an 8-2 record and its first bowl game in a decade, the Salt City Bowl.

Otulaja had previously coached running backs at St. Lawrence University. He began his coaching career in 2009, as assistant line coach at Freeport High School in Freeport, N.Y. He also has coaching experience at Chris Colmer's All-Star Football Camp on Long Island, the Madieu Williams Football Clinic in College Park, Md., Lauren's First & Goal Camp at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., and several other camps.

Otulaja started his playing career at Marist. He played on the defensive line for the Red Foxes from 2004-05 before finishing his career at the University of Maryland. In his three years with the Terrapins, they made three bowl appearances and compiled a record of 23-13. Otulaja was recognized as one of ESPN's "Best Little Men" in college football.
