Ben Chapman is in his first season as Marist’s offensive line coach in 2023.
Chapman’s most recent stop was Stonehill, where he was an offensive analyst in the 2022 season. Prior to that, he served as assistant offensive line coach at his alma mater, UConn, from 2018-21. At UConn, Chapman coached Matt Peart, who was named First Team All-American Athletic Conference in 2019 and was drafted 99th overall by the New York Giants in 2020.
Chapman had previously worked as defensive line coach at Stonehill in 2017. From 2015-16, he was the inside linebackers coach at Castleton. There, he was the video coordinator during his first season and recruiting coordinator in his second one. In 2013 and 2014, he was offensive and defensive line coach at Stonington High School in Connecticut.
Chapman was a player-coach for Monash Warriors in Australia in 2013. He played both ways, as a right tackle on offense and a defensive tackle. He was named First Team All-Victorian Right Tackle. As a coach, he served as offensive coordinator, offensive line coach, and defensive line coach as the Warriors won the Vic Bowl championship.
In his collegiate playing career, Chapman was a center at UConn from 2008-11. In his playing career, the Huskies went to three bowl games (2009 International Bowl, 2010 Papa John’s Bowl, 2011 Fiesta Bowl) and won the 2010 Big East championship.
Chapman earned his B.S. in Social Science of Sport with a concentration in Coaching and Administration in 2012. He earned his Master’s degrees in Athletic Leadership from Castleton in 2017 and in Sports Management from UConn in 2021.
