Bob Palombo is in his third stint on Marist's coaching staff. The 2025 season is the first season in his third stint, and ninth overall with the Red Foxes. Palombo is the Red Foxes' assistant offensive line coach.

Palombo previously served as the Red Foxes' offensive line coach from 1989-93. In 1990, the Red Foxes won their first conference championship (ACFC) in their varsity history, as Palombo coached four linemen (Kevin McKiernan, Tom McKiernan, Chris Marzo, Jason Menu) who earned All-Conference honors. The 1993 season marked Marist's first in Division I.

Palombo then went overseas to coach in Germany in the 1994 season, where he helped lead his team to a 16-1 record and a national championship. He then returned to Marist as defensive line coach from 1995-97. The 1997 team won Division I-AA statistical championships in rushing defense and total defense. That season, the Red Foxes set Division I-AA records for rushing yards allowed per game (39.8) and yards per carry (1.2). Defensive line Dwayne Bates and and Reid Ellis earned FIrst Team All-MAAC selections in 1997.

Palombo served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. He served as a tank commander and rose to the level of Sergeant.
