Jim Parady

Jim Parady has guided the Marist football program through three decades of growth. He is in his 32nd year as the Red Foxes’ head coach in 2022, and his 33rd overall with the program. He is the longest tenured head coach in Division I football. In his tenure, Marist has made the jump from Division III to the FCS, moved into a newly-renovated stadium, joined the Pioneer Football League, won four league championships, and has had three players sign NFL contracts. In addition to serving as head coach, he also coaches the team’s quarterbacks.

Marist in the NFL
  • Jason Myers signed a free-agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2015. He became the second Marist football player to appear in an NFL game. Myers played for the Jaguars from 2015-17, and signed with the Seattle Seahawks in January 2018, and then signed with the New York Jets in August 2018. Myers became the first former Marist football player selected to the Pro Bowl when he was honored in the 2018 season. Myers then signed a multi-year contract with Seattle in March 2019. In 2022, Myers earned his second Pro Bowl selection, and signed another multi-year contract with Seattle following the season. He is headed into his ninth NFL season in 2023.
  • Terrence Fede was the first Marist football player taken in the NFL Draft (2014, Miami Dolphins, seventh round). He became the first former Marist football player to appear in an NFL game. After playing for Miami from 2014-17, he signed with the Buffalo Bills in April 2018 and the New York Giants in August 2019.
  • Michael Rios became the first Marist football player to sign an NFL contract (2013, Arizona Cardinals, rookie free agent). Rios signed a free-agent contract with the Miami Dolphins in 2014.
  • In 2012, Jaquan Bryant (Oakland Raiders) and Kevin Fitzpatrick (Buffalo Bills) participated in NFL Rookie Minicamps.

  • Longest-tenured and winningest head coach in program history.
  • Currently the longest-tenured head coach in Division I. 
  • Had 300th game as head coach at Dayton on Oct. 16, 2021.
  • Earned 150th win vs. Presbyterian on Oct. 29, 2022.
  • Overall career record of 151-164-1 (.479) with mark of 111-81-1 (.578) in league play (54-50 in PFL, 55-29 in MAAC, 2-2-1 in Liberty).

Personal
  • Earned Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Maine in 1983. Was a four-year member of the football team as a quarterback, and earned two varsity letters.
  • Resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, with wife, Kristen. They have two children, Sarah and Brett. Sarah is a 2017 Marist graduate, and Brett is a 2022 Marist graduate.
