Jordan Johnson is in his first season on the Marist football coaching staff in 2019. He is serving as running backs coach.
Johnson played college football at the University at Buffalo as a running back from 2012-16. He holds the program record for rushing yards in a single game, with 282 against Akron in 2016. Johnson finished in the top three in program history in yards per carry, and the top five in career rushing yards. He graduated with a degree in Sociology.
An All Mid-American Conference selection, Johnson signed a free-agent contract with the Buffalo Bills in 2017. He appeared in all four of Buffalo’s preseason game, and scored one touchdown.
Johnson began his coaching career at Erie Community College in 2017. Working with the team’s running backs, he helped the group eclipse 1,500 yards, with the top two rushers signing with Division I and Division II programs. In 2018, Johnson coached an all-conference returner at Division II Fort Valley State University.
Johnson played quarterback at the scholastic level, and was a two-time New York State Class A Player of the Year at Sweet Home High School. He led his team to a 33-2 record and a state championship.
Johnson is a native of Buffalo, NY. His daughter, Mila'Jae, was born on Jan. 5, 2019.
