Luke Butera '20

Luke Butera is in his first season head coach Jim Parady's staff at Marist in the 2021 season. Butera will work on the defensive side of the ball, assistant Mike Kagafas with coaching the Red Foxes' linebackers.

Butera played for the Red Foxes from 2016-19, and started at right guard from 2017-19. He persevered through injuries and was named a team captain in 2019. That year, he was also the Red Foxes' nominee for the AFCA AllState GoodWorks team, and was a finalist for the Athletics Department's Pizzani Award. He was a three-time selection to the Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll.

In the 2020-21 season, Butera served as a quality control assistant for Monmouth. The Hawks won the Big South Conference championship, and concluded the regular season ranked 10th in the FCS AFCA Coaches' Poll, and 11th in the Stats Perform FCS Poll.

Butera earned his Bachelor's degree from Marist in 2020. He is a native of Toms River, New Jersey.
