Mike Connolly is in his first season on the Marist football coaching staff in 2023. He will serve as a defensive assistant.
Connolly comes to Marist with extensive success and experience in the scholastic ranks. He was the head coach at Cornwall High School from 2014-18 and was also the program’s defensive coordinator. Connolly was a four-time Class A Coach of the Year, and was the Section 9 Coach of the Year in 2017.
From 2007-14, Connolly was an assistant varsity coach at Monroe-Woodbury High School. He was the defensive coordinator from 2012-14.
In his playing career at Cortland, he earned the Red Dragon Award in 2005 and 2006, the Coaches’ Award in 2006, and was also NJAC All-Conference in 2006.
Connolly earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Cortland in 2007, and was a Dean’s List honoree in 2005, 2006, and 2007. He earned a Master’s of Science in Instructional Technology from New York Institute of Technology in 2012, where he graduated with distinction and had a 4.0 GPA.
