Zach Werlinger

Zach Werlinger is in his first season on the Marist football coach staff in 2025. He is serving at tight ends coach.

Werlinger spent the 2023-24 seasons at Rice University, where he served as offensive quality control coordinator. He worked closely with offensive coordinator Marques Tuiasosopo to coach the team's quarterbacks. He was an offensive graduate assistant at University of California, Berkeley from the 2020-22 seasons. There, he assisted Burl Toler in coaching the program's wide receivers. In the 2019 season, Werlinger was an offensive graduate assistant at Northern Arizona University. He worked alongside offensive coordinator Aaron Pflugrad to coach the team's quarterbacks, a group that included 4,000-yard passer Case Cookus. Werlinger began his coaching career at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the 2018 season, where he coached the program's wide receivers.

From 2014-17, Werlinger played quarterback at the University of Arizona. He rushed for a touchdown against Northern Arizona in 2015, and he served as a team captain against Oregon State on Nov. 11, 2017.

Werlinger was a National Football Foundation High School Scholar-Athlete Award recipient in 2014.

Werlinger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona in 2018. He majored in Communication and minored in Business Administration. He earned a Master of Public Health degree from Cal in 2022.
