Henry worked for Dunne at Saint Peter’s for the previous five seasons. During the 2016-17 season, he helped the Peacocks claim the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) championship. Saint Peter's finished at 23-13, the program's second-highest win total in its history. The Peacocks closed the season with 11 wins in their last 12 games.

Henry spent 2012-13 as a scout and consultant on a variety of different basketball projects. He  worked at Mount Saint Mary’s from 2010-12, and served as acting head coach for the final four games of the 2011-12 season, posting a record of 2-2.

Prior to that, he served as Director of Basketball Operations at Georgetown for six seasons, during which the Hoyas reached the 2007 Final Four and posted a record of 139-62. Georgetown qualified for postseason play in all of Henry's six seasons, with four NCAA Tournament appearances and two trips to the NIT.

He began his coaching career at Trinity University, where he coached from 2001-04 and reached two NCAA Tournaments with the Terriers.
