- Appeared in all 21 games, starting in nine.
- Averaged 8.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.
- Won MAAC Rookie of the Week on conference-opening weekend at Canisius, averaging 13.5 points in two games. Had game-winning three-point play in final minute of victory, Dec. 12.
- Scored a career high of 20 points at Manhattan, Dec. 19.
- Had a career high of eight rebounds at Saint Peter's on Feb. 19.
Prior to Marist: Byrd shined scholastically at Neumann-Goretti High School in Philadelphia. In his high school career, his team won four district championships, two state titles, and one Philadelphia Catholic League crown.

In his senior season, Byrd earned First Team All-Catholic League and Class 3A Second Team All-State honors as he averaged 14.6 points, 3.1 assists, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game for a team which went 24-4. Byrd built off a junior season in which he averaged 12.5 points per game while shooting 47 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range. He was a Second Team All-Catholic selection who boasted a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
