Prior to Marist: Mitchell is an athletic combo guard who will provide speed and quickness to the Red Foxes. He played the 2015-16 season at Weatherford College, a junior college in Weatherford, Texas. There, he averaged 11.4 points, 4.3 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 119-for-147 (.810) from the free-throw line. Mitchell led Weatherford in assists, free throws made, and free throws attempted.
Mitchell is a graduate of Marquette Catholic High School, where he won a state championship as a senior in 2014. He then played at Don Bosco Prep in Indiana for a post-graduate season in 2014-15. There, he was a teammate of Alexsandar Dozic, who joined the Red Foxes in May 2016.
