Jeffrey Carter was promoted to Associate AD/Student-Athlete Health & Performance in July 2024. The 2024-25 school year marks Carter's 12th at Marist.

Cater is responsible for overseeing Marist's Sports Medicine Department and the Red Foxes’ Strength & Conditioning area. He works closely with Marist’s Center for Health Services and sports dieticians. He currently sits on the NATA's Intercollegiate Sports Medicine Council, and he chairs the College and University Committee for the New York State Athletic Trainers Association. 
 
Carter was named Marist’s Coordinator of Sports Medicine in July 2013, and was promoted to Assistant AD/Sports Medicine in the summer of 2021. 

Prior to Marist, Carter served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Vassar College for 11 years, working with Brewers’ 27 Division III sports.

Before Vassar, Carter served as the head athletic trainer and director of wellness and fitness at Bard College for two years where he was responsible for coverage of all Division III varsity sports as well as the daily management of the athletic training program. In addition to his sports medicine duties, Carter was the campus-wide director of wellness and the director of the fitness center.

A 1997 graduate of the State University of New York at Cortland, Carter graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education, a minor in athletic training and a concentration in coaching. He received his Master of Science degree in education with an athletic training emphasis from Old Dominion University in May of 2000.

A native of Warsaw, New York, Carter is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Eastern Athletic Trainer's Association and the New York State Athletic Trainers' Association. He is also a certified strength and conditioning coach (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, an American Red Cross instructor and an approved clinical instructor (ACI) for athletic training students. In addition, Carter is the head athletic trainer for the Lake Placid Soccer Centre during the summer months. He currently resides in Poughkeepsie.
