Biography

2020 Senior Year
Accolades: Marist Advantage Strength and Conditioning Award Co-Winner, MAAC All-Academic Team.
  • Appeared in all six games, and made one start. 
  • Scored a season-best two goals against Hartford. 
  • Finished the season with five goals and one assist. 
 
2019 Junior Year
Accolades: MAAC All-Academic Team.
  • Played al 17 games
  • Finished the season with 11 goals and five assists
  • Scored a hat trick against Monmouth
  • Dished out a season high two assists against Canisius in the MAAC Semifinal game
  • Scored the game winner against Manhattan
 
2018 Sophomore Year
Accolades: MAAC All-Academic Team.
  • Played in all 15 games including two starts
  • Recorded a career high three goals and two assists against Colgate Feb 10
  • Dished an assist against Maryland Feb 13
  • Scored a goal against UMBC on March 10

2017 Freshman Year
  • Played in 10 games off the bench for the Red Foxes
  • Recorded his first career goal on March 4, the game-winner against Drexel
  • Scored a goal on two shots at Manhattan on April 15
 
General
Prior to Marist: Two time All-American Chris Schlappich comes to Poughkeepsie as a local product who has earned All-Division III status the last four seasons. Highland has won two Section IX Class B Championships and captured last year’s Section IX Division III title with the help of his offense. Schlappich was a U.S. Lacrosse All-American in 2015 and 2016 and an All-Section IX honoree the last three seasons. He is the reigning Poughkeepsie Journal Player of the Year and has been a Poughkeepsie Journal All-Star the last two years. The Times-Herald Record named him to the First Team the last two seasons and the Hudson Valley Sports Report selected him to their 2015 Dream Team. Academically, Schlappich finished third in a class of 185 and graduated as an AP Scholar with Honors. He was a Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar-Athlete and earned a New York State Academic Excellence and Greystone Technology award.
