- As a junior in high school, Balcarcel earned his third varsity letter, and was selected to be a team captain. He earned the team's "Most Valuable Player of the Year Award," after starting in all 20 games and totaling 60 goals with 43 assists to lead the team with 103 total points. By the end of the season, he became his school's all-time leader in assists without even getting the opportunity at a senior season.
- For his career, he amassed 164 goals and 111 assists for a whopping 275 points.
- Accolades from his junior season include being selected as a Wyoming Valley Conference Second Team All-Star and being selected to the Times-Tribune All-Region Team.
- Balcarcel earned a roster spot on the Puerto Rico Men's U19 National Lacrosse Team that will play in the U19 World Lacrosse Championships in Limerick Ireland in 2021.
- The two-sport standout was a team captain for his high school's varsity football team while rushing for over 3,200 yards and scoring 43 touchdowns in his career.
- He was a member of the National Honor Society, was his senior class vice-president and junior class president, and made the high honor roll throughout all four years of high school.
