A dual-sport athlete in lacrosse and football, Cangro recorded 150 ground balls during his lacrosse career at Eastport-South Manor HS. He was a part of the 2017 Suffolk County championship team. He garnered All-Division II and All-Suffolk County Honorable Mention accolades in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Cangro was selected to the Under Armour Long Island Underclass Tournament Team in 2017 and participated in the esteemed Nassau vs. Suffolk Long Island Showcase for three consecutive years. In football, he was second in receiving yards in Suffolk Country, earning his way onto the Second Team All-Division II.
