Prior to Marist:Â Sommer played three seasons of varsity football and lacrosse. In lacrosse he was a two-time All-Conference selection and earned All-County Honors his senior year. He played in the Nassau county quarterfinals for three consecutive seasons and was a team captain in 2014 and 2015.
