Marist Director of Athletics Tim Murray announced the hiring of Harrison Baker '14 as Associate Athletics Director & Director of External Affairs in August 2020. In this key role, Baker serves as the second in command in Athletics overseeing marketing and sponsorship, in-game presentation, and the department's sports information and multimedia staffs.

Baker previously served as Assistant Sports Information Director with the Red Foxes from 2014-18. He was promoted in 2016 and became the department's Social Media Coordinator. From 2018-20, Baker worked as Associate Director of Graphic Design and Digital Strategy at Tulane University.

In his career, Baker has generated dynamic results through his efforts in content creation.

His responsibilities at Tulane included developing graphical templates for staff members and external units, and managing and directing content for the department's social media sites. Baker created and implemented annual social media strategies and plans. He also worked on creating and scheduling email communications from the department.

In Baker's first year, content from Tulane's main social media athletics platforms had an 87 percent increase in total engagements, a 24 percent in total impressions. As a result, the Green Wave generated a 24 percent increase in total followers.

During his tenure in Marist's sports information department, Baker conceptualized and created comprehensive design packages that were used for all sports and the department itself. During his time as social media coordinator, the department's Twitter account grew by over 500 percent and a total of over 31,000 followers, while the Instagram account doubled its number of followers. He also served as a member of the College's Diversity Council.

Baker served as primary contact for women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's rowing, and men's and women's cross country. In addition to his sport responsibilities, he provided social media assistance at all home football and men's basketball games, and produced multimedia and video content for all programs.

Baker graduated from Marist with a B.A. in Sports Communication. During his time as a student, he interned in the Athletics Department and served as a producer and researcher for ESPN The Classroom, a radio show produced by the College's Center for Sports Communication.

Baker grew up in New Windsor and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy. He and his wife, Amy, are the parents of a seven-year-old daughter, Charlotte, and three-year-old son, Jackson.
