In the 2017-18 season, Bonilla was named First Team All-Conference, won the ECC Division II Champion and was named Most Outstanding Player. Her team finished state runner-up in 2017. According to Northeast Girls Recruiting, she was ranked the #3 prospect in the state of Connecticut in her class. In her junior season, she averaged 12.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.0 steals.
Coach Giorgis on Bonilla: "Julianna is very unselfish. The biggest thing that attracted us to her is her passing ability; she's a tremendous passer. She can score in a variety of ways as well. She can take the ball to the basket, she can post up and back people down, and she is a tremendous perimeter shooter."
