General

Nielsen attended South Burlington High School in South Burlington, Vermont. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Coalition for Community Service, and Athletic Leadership Council. She was awarded both Honor Roll and High Honor Roll. She organized and led soccer games with local Middle Schools. She was selected to the South Burlington High School Peer Leadership program. Nielsen was a three time recipient of the Outstanding Athletic Achievement Award, given to an athlete that exhibit qualities of sportsmanship, played to utmost ability, receptive to coaching, and shows performance at a high level of competitive pressure.  She was awarded the Coaches Recognition Award 2014, Leadership Award for 2015, and MVP and Captain for the 2016 season.  She was named VPA First Team All State  2016, Metro Division First team 2016 and Honorable mention for Metro Division First Team 2015.  As a starting defensive midfielder for high school, she had 8 goals 14 assists total in the 2015 and 2016 season.  As a starting center forward for Nordic Premier Club Team, she was Vermont State Cup Champions in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.  Nielsen was named to the Vermont ODP team: U14, U15, U16.  Nielsen will graduate having played 12 seasons of high school athletics, 10 of which were with varsity recognition, and three seasons as captain.  She is the daughter to Jeff and Terri Nielsen and younger sister to Gunnar Nielsen.  She will attend Marist with the intentions of continuing on a Pre-Med track.
