Brittany Kolmel

Biography
  • Brittany Kolmel was hired during the summer of 2020. Including the abbreviated 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fall 2021 campaign marks her second with the team.
  • During her tenure, Marist placed a record 22 student-athletes on the MAAC All-Academic Team, the first time the Red Foxes had over 20 selections.
  • In addition, Nicole Sasso, '21 was named to the 2020-21 Preseason All-MAAC Team, and earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Team.
  • A native of Campbell Hall in neighboring Orange County, Kolmel brings in a decade of coaching experience as well as a storied playing career that has spanned the collegiate, professional, and national landscapes.

  • Oversaw development of over 400 athletes and 15 teams ranging from the U12 to U20 levels in New Windsor, NY
  • Assisted players in the college recruiting process to place over 250 athletes in collegiate programs, and developed a professional player, 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup player, and two Full Women's Youth and National Team players
  • Guided teams to championships at major showcases such as the Jefferson Cup, Disney Showcase, PDA Showcase, and CASL Raleigh.com Showcase
  • Also executed various operational procedures to cultivate a nationally recognized "Quickstrike" culture, which included management of program coaches, guidelines, training session evaluations, fitness and nutritional programming, local partnerships, and media relations

  • Member of the U.S. Women's National Team from 2010-2011, serving as an alternate in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup
  • Won a gold medal at the Four Nations Cup in 2011
  • Captain of the U21 team from 2008-2010
  • In 2007, she earned a silver medal at the U20 Pan American Olympic Games

Brittany Kolmel Pro Soccer Achievements

  • Suited up for Sky Blue FC, Western NY Flash, and FC Kansas City across Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) and the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL)
  • In 2017, she became the third player in NWSL history to reach 100 career caps in the league, playing the full 9,090 minutes across those 100 contests
  • Named to the NWSL Best XI in 2013
  • Entered the professional ranks after being drafted in the first round (sixth overall) by Sky Blue FC in 2010

  • Earned NSCAA Third Team All-American, Big East Defensive Player of the Year, and All-Big East First Team honors as a redshirt senior in 2009
  • As a junior, she was selected as a NSCAA First Team All-American and Big East Defensive Player of the Year in 2007, while earning a spot on the All-Big East First Team
  • In 2006, she was placed on the All-Big East First Team and NSCAA/Adidas All-Northeast Region I Team
  • Immediately garnered All-Big East First Team accolades as a freshman in 2005
