Prior to Marist: Van Der Biezen led Briar Woods to its first ever appearance in the Division V Virginia State Championship. She started on the varsity team at setter for four seasons and was named First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region in her junior and senior years. She was selected for the All-Loudoun and All-Virginia High School Coaches’ Teams following her senior year. Van Der Biezen was a setter for the Chesapeake Region Volleyball Association High Performance Team in 2012, which finished in second place in a tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. She received a Junior Volleyball Association Athletic Leadership Award at the Amateur Athletic Union Tournament in Orlando in 2014. She has been a setter on club volleyball teams for seven years, playing for Virginia Elite (ages 17 and 18) and Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (ages 12-16) squads. Academically, Van Der Biezen was on the All-A Honor Roll for all four years of high school and had a weighted GPA of 4.4. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America.
