November 2, 2000 -- The Marist Women's Volleyball team (1-21, 1-7 MAAC) were beaten by the University of Albany Great Danes (3-19) in four games on the campus of Albany, 15-12, 9-15, 16-14, and 15-8 last night in a non-conference match.
Sophomore Anne Corrigan (Rockville Centre, NY) who had team high 16 kills led the Red Foxes. Also contributing for the Red Foxes were senior Heidi Hildebrandt (Kenmore, NY) who accumulated 15 kills and sophomore Leanne Taylor (Oradell, NJ) who had 7 kills. Leigh Shillington (Kingston, Ontario) tallied 39 assists for the Red Foxes. Alissa Gibbs and Julie Arbitman, who recorded 17 and 15 kills respectively, led Albany. The duo of Alissa Gibbs and Kathryn Neel also recorded 13 digs apiece. Maureen Roberts added 45 assists for the victors.
The Marist volleyball team will be back in action this Saturday, November 4th, as they travel to Harvard to compete in the Harvard tournament. They will take on Ivy League opponents Harvard at 11:00 a.m. then Dartmouth at 2:00 p.m. before returning for the MAAC regular season finale at St. Peters at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 7th.
