Poughkeepsie, NY---The Marist College men's tennis team (2-0) defeated Rider University, 7-0, by capturing all the six singles and the three doubles matches.

Pat Hofer defeated Bernardo Brigano at the number one singles position, 6-1, 6-1. Mike Sowter beat Frank Eiche, 6-0, 6-2. At number three Dave Slater won against Tim Koch, 6-1, 6-3. Alex Ilchenko beat Frank Rugiero in the number four spot, 6-4, 6-0. Victor Sapezhnikov was victorious in the number five singles against Jeff Marchitello, 6-0, 6-0. At number six Pat Dahnert claimed a win against Doug Kreszi, 6-3, 6-2.

In the doubles competition the team of Hofer and Sowter won, 8-0. Slater and Nick Bass defeated the team of Eiche and Koch, 8-2. Danhert and Sapezhnikov won at number three doubles, 8-0.

The Red Foxes will travel to Siena College in Loudonville, NY, with match time at 3:30 pm.
