Poughkeepsie, NY-The Marist College men's basketball team earned an 80-70 victory over the University of South Alabama tonight at the James J. McCann Recreation Center.  Marist improves to 3-0 on the young season while South Alabama falls to 0-2 on the year.
Senior guard Sean Kennedy (Northport, NY) paced the Red Foxes for the second straight games as he poured in a game-high 21 points on the evening, 13 of them coming in the second half.  He also contributed seven assists, seven rebounds and four steals.  Sophomore Dennis Young (Warrenton, GA) recorded the first double-double of his career, as he scored 11 points and had 10 rebounds, four on the offensive glass.
South Alabama was led by the 15-point, 13-rebound effort from Henry Williams.  Demetrice Williams had a team-high 16 points for the Jaguars, while Marques Ivy scored 10 points off of the bench.
Marist also received a 16-point effort from Matt Tullis (Orem, UT).  Tullis blocked three shots and had five rebounds in the contest.  The Red Foxes shot 46.4 percent from the field, while South Alabama connected on 43.8 percent of their shots, 28-64.  The Red Foxes pulled down 40 rebounds to the 34 by South Alabama.
Marist will return to action on Saturday, November 24th when they travel to Amherst, MA, to take on the Minutemen of Massachusetts.  The game will be the first road contest of the season for the Red Foxes.
