Final Stats
Kingston, RI---The Marist College men's (10-0) and women's (7-4) swimming and diving teams competed at Rhode Island this afternoon. The men secured the win, 152-81, while the women lost, 133-110.
Highlights on the afternoon for the men were from Justin Burkhardt (Milford, NH), David Dobbins (Greece, NY), and Ricky Kapusta (Stamford, Conn.). Burkhardt touched the wall first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:02.78), while Dobbins claimed victory in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.57). Kapusta secured the winning finish in the 50-yard freestyle (21.87) for the Red Foxes.
In the women's competition, Sarah McKinney (Schaumburg, IL) was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.28). Jennifer Gelsomino (Harrison, NY) had a pair of wins in the 200-yard individual medley (2:14.18) and in the 200-yard butterfly (2:13.01). In addition, Kristen Schnitzer (Bronxville, NY) had a win in the 200-yard backstroke (2:13.17).
The Red Foxes next take on Lehigh University on Saturday, February 2nd, in Bethlehem, PA. The swimming and diving action is set to begin at 1:00 p.m..
