Poughkeepsie, NY-The Marist College women's soccer team fell to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) rival Rider University 1-0 tonight on Leonidoff Field.

The two teams combined for 28 shots, but were scoreless until Rider's Ashley Johnson scored in the 88th minute from five yards out.

The Red Foxes almost tied their season high in shots (19) with 18 on the night, while Rider had 10. Senior goalkeeper Mellanie Nai (Suffield, Conn.) made 5 saves for Marist and her counter part Erin Wolleon had 10 for the game.

Libby Ludwig (Commack, NY) led the Red Foxes with five shots, while freshman Elizabeth Egan (Shelton, Conn.) and sophomore Courtney Moore (Harwihton, Conn.) each had three.

The Red Foxes return to action this Sunday, October 27th, when they host Loyola at 1 p.m. on Leonidoff Field.
