Men's Lacrosse Falls To Delaware 10-3

Newark, DE - The men's lacrosse team dropped their fourth consecutive game, falling to the University of Delaware 10-3 on Wednesday at Rullo Field. The Red Foxes are now 0-4 on the season, while the Hens improve to 4-2.

Delaware scored the first goal of the game when Bob Meunier found the back of the net at 9:41 in the first quarter. Later in the first, Marist tied the game when Tim Iuculano (Silver Spring, MD) had an unassisted goal at 4:09, but that was as close as the Red Foxes would get in the contest.

The Hens scored five unanswered goals, with two coming in the second and three more coming in the third, to take a 6-1 lead.

Iuculano scored once more with 5:18 in the third to make it 6-2, before Delaware responded with four more goals to make it 10-2. Billy Duerr (Manasquan, NJ) scored at 6:32 in the fourth, but was not enough, as the Hens held on for the win.

Bobby Gross (Huntington, NY) finished with 19 saves in goal for the Red Foxes.

Matt Alrich and Meunier each had three goals and an assist to lead Delaware.

The Red Foxes return to action on Saturday, March 15, when they travel to Philadelphia, PA for their MAAC opener against St. Joseph's at 1:00 p.m.
