Blacksburg, VA-In the second game of the day, the Marist College softball team dropped a close one to Lehigh University, 12-10 this afternoon at South Rec Field. The Red Foxes are now 1-7 overall.

Senior Kathleen McEvily (White Plains, NY) went 3-4 for the Red Foxes, hitting a double, while bringing in two runs and scoring three. Allison Bartley (Manalapan, NJ) went 2-4, along with Bobbi Jo Gonnello (Clifton, NJ) and Kara Lacey (Cheshire, Conn.). Bartley had two doubles, three RBI, and scored two runs. Gonnello had two RBI, while Lacey had one.

The Red Foxes scored most of their runs in the third, scoring five, while scoring two in the fifth and three in the sixth.

Danielle Blake (Doylestown, PA) pitched till the fourth inning, striking out one, before Elizabeth Moyer (Scio, NY) came in to relieve her. Moyer recorded two strikeouts, while only allowing one run.

The Red Foxes return to action Saturday, March 22nd, when they take on Youngstown St. at 11:00 a.m. and St. Bonaventure at 1:00 p.m. in the Virginia Tech Tournament.
