Men's Lacrosse Rolls Over Wagner, 12-7

Staten Island, NY - The Marist College men's lacrosse team outscored MAAC Lacrosse League opponent Wagner 7-2 in the fourth quarter as they earned a 12-7 win over the Seahawks in Staten Island on Saturday. The Red Foxes improve to 2-8 on the season, with a 2-3 record in the MAAC, while Wagner falls to 1-7, with a 1-4 conference record.

The game was evenly matched through the first three quarters, with the score tied at 5-5 heading into the fourth. The Red Foxes responded with four unanswered goals, three of them coming with a man-up, to pull away for the win.

Billy Duerr (Manasquan, NJ) led Marist with four goals and one assist, while Josh Ben-Eliyahu (East Seatuket, NY) added three goals and one assist. Andrew Walsh (Liverpool, NY) also played well, with two goals and one assist. Justin Casano (Franklin Square, NY) and Billy Dziedzic (Southington, CT) were the defensive standouts for the Red Foxes, with nine and seven groundballs, respectively.

Bobby Gross (Huntington, NY) played the entire game in goal for Marist, making 11 saves.

Kevin Zulauf led Wagner with three goals and one assist, while Bryan Gallagher tallied one goal and one assist.

Marist outshot Wagner 35-28, while the Seahawks held a 54-43 advantage in ground balls.

The Red Foxes return to action next Saturday, April 12th, when they host MAAC opponent Providence for a 7:00 p.m. game on Leonidoff Field.
