The Marist men's tennis team continued their stellar play downing Siena 7-0 this afternoon in their first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match of the year.
In singles action, senior Chris Hagen defeated John Michalisin, 6-1, 6-2. Sophomore Mark Santucci beat his opponent Nick Julia, 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Ray Josephs needed just two sets to beat Ed Roessler 6-3, 6-3, while fellow freshman Frank Algier defeated Mike Aliotta, 6-0, 6-0. In number five singles, sophomore Alain Boletta battled it out in three sets with Dustin Temple, coming away with the victory, 6-1, (6-7), 10-2. Freshman Jeff Nguyen finished up singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Corey Snitchler.
In doubles action, the pair of Hagen and Santucci defeated Michalisin and Roessler, 8-4, while the Algier and Nguyen beat Julia and Temple 8-5. The duo of Boletta and Josephs also picked up a win.
The Red Foxes return to the courts this weekend as they participate in the ECAC Tournament.
