Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist men's tennis team defeated Siena this afternoon, 7-0, sweeping its first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match of the year. After an extremely successful weekend at the UConn Fall Tournament, with three players winning singles titles, the team is continuing its success. In first singles, Marist's Pedro Genovese downed Brian Onofry, 6-2, 6-3. Freshman Leonardo Rodriguez downed John Michalisin, 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 in second singles, while Ray Josephs defeated Mike Aliotta in third singles, 6-1, 6-0.

The third, fourth and fifth singles matches were all sweeps, with the Red Foxes not allowing the Saints to win a single game. Frank Algier won fourth singles over Jose Loren, 6-0, 6-0 while Brendon Van Wasbeck defeated Pat Hutnick, 6-0, 6-0 in fifth singles and Jeff Nguyen downed Adam Mastriani 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth match-up.
