Marist Names Barry Assistant Baseball Coach

Oct. 4, 2004

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Marist Director of Athletics Tim Murray announced the hiring of Chris Barry for the position of Assistant Baseball Coach, the Department announced Monday.

Barry, a native of Orchard Park, N.Y., graduated from George Washington University in May 2003, finishing his career in top ten in home runs, stolen bases, total bases and runs while playing infield and outfield at George Washington.

Barry will assist with the hitters and coach first base during his stint in Poughkeepsie.

"We are very excited that Chris has begun his coaching career at Marist," said Marist head coach Joe Raccuia. "He will make an immediate impact to our program with his energy level and past playing experiences. Our position players should benefit greatly from his tutelage."

The Red Foxes will open their 2004-05 campaign Friday, February 25th at Louisiana-Lafayette.
