Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist men's tennis team defeated Rider today, 7-0. With the win, the Red Foxes improved to 2-0 in the MAAC, continuing their successes this fall season. This was Marist's second 7-0 win in the past two days.

In first singles, Leonardo Rodriguez defeated Ragdee Saberon, 6-1, 6-1 while his doubles partner, Pedro Genovese downed Elliot Eiche in second singles, 6-3, 6-2. Mark Santucci dominated Chris Stanco in third singles, 6-1, 6-1 and Ray Josephs took out Mike Greenburg in fourth singles, 6-0, 6-3. In fifth singles, Frank Algier defeated Robert Worlow, 6-0, 6-3 and Sean Tully downed Jeremy Finkleson-Reece, 6-0, 6-1 in sixth singles.

On the doubles side, the dynamic duo of Rodriguez and Genovese defeated Saberon and Eice, 8-4 in the first match-up. Santucci and Algier combined for an 8-2 victory over Stanco and Greenburg in second doubles while Josephs and Jeff Nguyen took out Daniel Strupp and Jim Leone, 8-1 in third doubles.

The Red Foxes will be in action again tomorrow, Wednesday Oct. 6, when they travel to Holy Cross to take on the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m.
