Men's Track Sets Three More Records At Terrier Invitational

Feb. 1, 2004

BOSTON- Freshman Brian DeMarco and senior captain Eli Bisnett-Cobb led the way as the Marist College men's track team posted three school records at the Terrier Invitational, held Saturday night on the Boston University campus.

DeMarco anchored the 1,600-meter relay team that placed 10th in a new school mark of 3:25.95. The time eclipsed the previous school record, set earlier this season, by more than four seconds. Other relay team members: junior Adam Pakiela, senior captain Rick Ambrosio and sophomore Rob DeAngelo.

DeMarco anchored the relay with a split of 49.9 seconds. With just 30 minutes of rest, the freshman came back and set a school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.85 seconds.

Bisnett-Cobb had the highest individual placing of the day, finishing third in the 55-meter high hurdles in 7.78 seconds. The time ties his school record as he inches closer to the IC4A qualifying mark in that event (7.75).

Several other team members earned personal-best performances at the meet: Freshman Mike Bamberger, in the 800-meter run, 1:57.19; sophomore Justin Harris, in the 3,000-meter run (8:41.24); freshman Mark Fernandez in the 3,000-meter run (8:56.70); senior captain Charlie Williams in the mile run (4:33.22).

The men's track team returns to action on Sunday, February 8 at the Metropolitan Championships, held at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York City.
