Red Foxes Fall Short, Dropping 6-3 Decision To Lamar

The Marist College baseball team dropped to 2-6 on the year, as it fell 6-3 in the second game of a three game set against Lamar. The three game series will finish on Sunday.

Marist scored all of its runs in the top of the second inning. Bryan Towler started the inning with a triple to right center and broke a 0-0 tie when Justin Lepore hit a sacrifice fly to right field. Chris Waters followed with a one out single, advancing to second on an error. Eric Johnson walked and was followed by an RBI single from Kevin Grauer. Andy Kirikaides followed with an RI groundout.

Lamar tallied one in the bottom of the second and took the lead with a four-run fourth inning off of starter, George Heath. Heath lasted 5.2 innings, allowing six runs, all earned on nine hits. He fanned two. Eric Supplee tossed the final 2.1 innings for Marist, allowing two hits and no runs, while striking out two batters.

Towler was 2-3 on the day, while five other Red Foxes had a base hit on the afternoon.
