Poughkeespie, NY- The Marist College men's tennis won their 64th consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) match by downing Fairfield 7-0 this afternoon. With the win, Marist improves to 13-4 and 5-0 in the MAAC.
In singles action, the Red Foxes swept all six matches. Sophomore Mark Santucci battled back from a first set loss to defeat Kevin Nyarady, 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 in the number three singles. After dropping the first set Nick Bass rallied back to overtake Colin Torrance 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 at the number four singles. Freshman Frank Algier also played well defeating Paul Goldbeck, 6-3, 6-3.
The Red Foxes swept the doubles competition, the tandems of Santucci and Bass, Chris Hagen and Pedro Genovese, and Ray Josephs and Alain Boletta each defeated their respective opponents 8-1.
The Red Foxes look to win their 65th consecutive match in the MAAC as they travel to Manhattan on April 13th for a 3:00pm start.
