The Marist College softball team had seven players chosen to the 2004 New York Lottery Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team as announced this morning at the MAAC Championship Banquet held on the campus of Marist College.
Senior Elizabeth Moyer, juniors Allison Bartley, Danielle Blake, and Barbara Leasure, and sophomores Katie Eskin, Bridget Hurlman, and Chrystine McHugh were the Red Foxes named to the All-Academic Team. The seven selections tied Marist with Manhattan College for most in the league.
This is the second consecutive year that Bartley, a fashion merchandising major, Blake, a communications studies major, and Leasure, a psychology/special education major, have been chosen to the MAAC All-Academic Team. It is the first such honor for Moyer, a social work major, Eskin, a communications major, Hurlman, an athletic training major, and McHugh, an economics major.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution, be a significant starter or reserve and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
