Box Score

Baltimore, Md. - An ice-cold night from the floor for Loyola combined with a solid shooting night for Marist, pushed the Red Foxes toward gaining a 63-49 decision at Reitz Arena on Wednesday night. Freshman Brad Farrell led the Greyhounds with nine points and junior Linton Hinds had a strong game with eight points and seven rebounds, but four Red Foxes in double figures would guide Marist to its fourth MAAC win of the season.

Loyola opened the game with a 5-0 lead on a lay-in from Farrell and a three-pointer from freshman Freddie Stanback. The Red Foxes scored the next seven and it was off to the races. Five lead changes and three ties in the first half left Loyola behind 29-25.

The Greyhounds had a hard time getting much going in the second stanza, shooting 29 percent from the field and 14 percent (2-for-14) from 3-point range. Freshman Greg Manning, who knocked down both of Loyola's second-half threes, finished with a career-high eight points in 15 minutes of action.

The Red Foxes scored 11 of the first 13 points in the second half and build a 40-27 lead. The Greyhounds would cut into the lead and dropped it to nine points a few times, but struggled on offense despite turning the ball over a season-low 12 times.

Ryan Stilphen led Marist with 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Will McClurkin had a game-high 13 points while Jared Jordan and Carl Hood each chipped in with 10 points for the Red Foxes. Junior Josko Alujevic finished with six points and tied for the team lead in rebounds with seven. Jordan also notched eight assists in the win, pushing him into ninth on the school's all-time assist list past Andy Lake. Lake dished out 205 assists from 1988-93.

The Red Foxes, now 7-7 overall and 4-1 in MAAC play, quickly return to action this Saturday night when they host Niagara at 7 p.m.
