POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.- The Marist Women's Swimming and Diving team remained unbeaten on the season as they topped MAAC foe Iona 140.5-91.5 on Tuesday night. The Red Foxes moved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the MAAC as Jamie Falco (North Haven, Conn.) and Savannah Puca (Huntington, N.Y.) won two events on the night.
Falco was victorious in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events in times of 1:56.20 and 5:16.40, respectively. The sophomore was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished third in 3:40.27.
Puca, a freshman, also paced the field in two events Tuesday night. She led the way in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:15.51 and then won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:12.55.
Marist was also strong in the relay events as the team of Karen Fleckenstein (Port Jefferson, N.Y.), Lauren Malski (Trumbull, Conn.), Kim Koehler (Narragansett, R.I.) and Jackie Fountaine (Pawling, N.Y.) won the 400-yard medley relay, the first event of the night, in 4:06.39.
In diving, it was again a sweep for the Red Foxes as they took the first three positions. Meghan Duffy, Cheshire, Conn.) won both the one and three-meter events with scores of 266.10 and 267.25, respectively. Melissa Mangona (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) took second in event.
Marist is off from competition until December 3 and 4 when they head to Baltimore for a meet with Loyola, Niagara and Catholic.
