Baltimore, Md. - Seven members of the Marist women's swimming and diving squad were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team, the conference office announced today. Seniors Katie Szajowski and Sarah McKinney, along with juniors Jamie Cannata, Meghan Duffy and Trish Maxim and sophomores Lindsay Marotto and Cynthia Spiecker received the honors.
Szajowski and McKinney, join Karen Finnerty '04, Julie Kozloski '01, Shannon McInnis '01 as the only three-time MAAC All-Academic honorees in program history.
This is the second MAAC All-Academic award for Maxim (Chemistry/Biochemistry) and Cannata (Psychology/Special Education) while Duffy, Marotto and Spiecker were honored for the first time. Duffy and Spiecker are also Pyschology/Special Education majors while Marotto is studying Fashion Merchandising.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution, be a significant starter or reserve and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
