Boston, Mass. - The Marist men's tennis team (8-1) picked up a 6-1 victory over host Boston University on Sunday. Juniors Leonardo Rodriguez, Mark Santucci and Federico Rolon, along with sophomore Ray Josephs, won singles and doubles matches for the Red Foxes.
Rodriguez defeated Mike Orden at No. 2 singles 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 and teamed with sophomore Pedro Genovese to beat Orden and Barrett Wolf 8-3 in doubles.
Santucci and Rolon defeated Ross Lohr and Jared Kobryn in doubles 8-2 while also dispatching them in singles matches. Santucci defeated Kobryn 6-2, 7-6 (2) while Rolon downed Lohr 7-5, 5-7, 11-9.
Josephs swept Kris Kubacki 6-2, 6-3 and then paired with junior Alain Boletta to sink Kubacki and Phil DeMeo 8-3. Junior Brendon Van Wasbeek closed out the victory by dispatching Manuel Bulauitan 6-1, 6-2.
Marist is back in action Thursday, March 17 when they face Lafayette and Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C.
