Women's Swimming and Diving Edged By Seton Hall 123 -120

South Orange, N.J. - Junior Meghan Duffy and freshman Melissa Mangona set the school diving records in Marist's narrow 123-120 defeat at the hands of host Seton Hall today. The Red Foxes (8-3) won eight of 13 events.

Mangona set the 1-meter mark with her winning score of 260.85 as Duffy took second with a 255.75 mark. On the 3-meter platform it was Duffy's turn to set the school record (265.50) as Mangona placed second (253.20).

Sophomore Kimberly Koehler had an excellent day in sprinting events, winning the 50 freestyle in 25.64 seconds and placing second in the 100 freestyle (55.38 seconds).

Marist earned three other individual victories as freshman Jamie Falco won the 200 backstroke in 2:09.46, senior co-captain Emily Heslin captured the 500 freestyle (5:10.19) and sophomore Lauren Malski took the 200 breaststroke (2:22.58).

The Red Foxes also swept the relay events, winning the 400 medley in a time of 4:01.21 and taking the 400 freestyle in 3:42.59.

Marist returns to action at the three-day MAAC Championship meet in Baltimore, hosted by Loyola starting Thursday, Feb. 17. The Red Foxes will be looking to defend their team title and win their seventh conference crown in nine years.
