The Marist men's tennis team improved to an impressive 14-2 overall, 6-1 in the MAAC, with a solid 7-0 defeat of the Fairfield Stags this afternoon.
Marist won all six singles matches, including an impressive three-set win by sophomore Pedro Genovese. Junior Leonardo Rodriguez defeated Kevin Nyarady after taking the second-set tiebreak by a score of 8-6. Junior Brendon Van Wasbeek took the third singles for Marist, winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-0, over Fairfield's Stephen Kouri. Junior Federico Rolon did not drop one game defeating George Casalicchio 6-0, 6-0, and teamed with Genovese for the win in second doubles.
The Foxes return to action on Sunday for a non-conference tune-up against Army.
