The Red Foxes were led at the plate by designated hitter Kevin Buck and third baseman Pat Feeney, who each recorded two hits. Buck, the reigning MAAC Player of the Week, also scored a couple of runs. Center fielder Andrew Larsen led the way for Stony Brook with a 3-for-4 effort, while catcher Tom Pennino had three RBI.

The Red Foxes broke a scoreless tie in their half of the third when catcher Keith Glasser raced home on center fielder Travis Musolf's RBI groundout.

Marist added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth when first baseman Bryan Towler scored on a grounder by second baseman Joe Sargent and Glasser's RBI single to center, scoring Buck two batters later.

The Seawolves closed to with 3-2 with two runs in the top of the sixth when Pennino ripped a two-run single up the middle off Marist reliever Kevin Kelly, scoring designated hitter Isidro Fortuna and Larsen.

The Red Foxes would then post an insurance run they would turn out to need in the bottom half of the inning when pinch hitter Justin Lepore scored Buck on a sacrifice fly to left field.

Pennino knocked in his third run of the afternoon in the eighth with a single to left for the final margin.

Marist will be back in action Saturday when it faces Niagara in a doubleheader, beginning at noon at the McCann Baseball Field.
